Did you know that when you visit Costa Rica, and use Adobe Rent a Car services, all your transportation needs are taken care of? When a foreigner wants to come to Costa Rica and arrives at the airport, Adobe provides free shuttle services from the Airport to their offices.
How does it work?
Once you book your trip, all you have to do is provide us with the flight information: airline, flight number and estimate arrival time. With that information, we will send a representative to pick you up, no matter if you arrive at Daniel Oduber in Liberia or at Juan Santamaría Airport in San José.
How do I know who is picking me up?
Right after customs, head to the exit and look for a uniformed representative (blue shirt with black pants). This person will be holding an Adobe sign with your name right at the exit of the airport.
The representative will take you to the shuttle and then to Adobe’s offices, which are located about 10 minutes away.
Also, when you depart the country, you can return the car in our airport offices and the shuttle service will take you back to the airport terminal. Please consider enough time, since traffic can be heavy at certain hours.
What are the schedules?
- Alajuela airport car rental office schedule is from 5am to 10pm Costa Rica time.
- Liberia car rental offices schedule is from 5am to 5pm.
However, if you provide the information before hand, we don’t mind waiting for you after hours.
Please contact our reservations department to coordinate and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. If we have your inflight information complete and you flight is delayed, but confirmed to arrive, we will wait for you until your plane arrives.
Is there any airport fee tax involved?
No. Adobe Rent a Car charges no airport tax at all.
Our offices are located 1.5 miles away from the airport, hence, there’s no airport fee. Also, our shuttle service is complimentary.
Is the shuttle service exclusive for a client or does it pick up several at a time?
Sometimes we have several clients arriving at the same flight, so they’ll be taken to the office together. But there doesn’t necessarily need to be more than one client to send the shuttle.
What documentation do I need to provide?
When you arrive at the office, you’ll be asked for several documents such as driver’s license, passport and credit card. If you come through a travel agency you’ll be also asked for a voucher with your reservation details.
We need to verify the entrance seal in your passport as you must have a tourist status in order to use your country’s driver’s license. If you’ve been in the country for over 3 months, you are no longer considered a tourist and you’ll need to show a Costa Rican driver’s license in order to rent a car.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes, we do. The credit card needs to be a major one such as American Express, Visa or MasterCard. We do not take cash or traveler’s checks.
Also, please be aware that Adobe does not take Discover cards as it won’t let us hold the deposit.
You must have at least $1,500 available in your card for that safety deposit, plus the amount of the rental. If you want to put the guarantee deposit in a card and the rental in another one, we can try to accommodate you.
Do you also pick up us with your shuttle bus in a hotel close to the airport (Hotel Robledal)?

Hola Julia. Nosotros siempre recibimos a nuestros clientes a la salida del aeropuerto y los llevamos en un shuttle gratuito hasta nuestra oficina de Río Segundo.
